Slide Mountain, NY
Date: 08/16/2006
Persons in Group: Brian and Greg
Weather Conditions: 75-80 degrees, sunny..
Route: 2.7 miles to the top from the Slide Mountain Trailhead.
Notes: #115 on the NE111 for 46er1248! It started in 1972 on Algonquin, and ended here, possibly the easiest 4k peak on the list.
Very nice trail, in great shape. Not a lot for views on the way...it was a 3 hour trip total, and then we were back on the road. (Speaking of road, 10 hours total driving to get this one out of the way!)
This was #85 on the NE111 for myself.

GPS track for the day...not steep at all the way we approached it, however take a look around...
8:30 AM EST - At the Slide Mountain Trailhead.
46er1248 getting ready for the climb.
The sign...2.7 miles, 1700 feet of vertical elevation.
The register hut.
The sign in, can you tell we are excited?
3500 foot marker.
The junction .7 miles from the summit.

115.

A little ways down, a large open area with some views around.

Packing up...it's about 5 hours back to VT.
