Mount Marshall, NY
Date: 09/09/2006
Persons in Group: Brian and Greg.
Weather Conditions: 65 degrees, Rain.
Route: We came in through the Upper Works trailhead, through Calamity Pond and up to Herbert Brook(5.1 Miles). From Herbert Brook, we took the herd path to the summit of Marshall (1.7 Miles). We came back out the same way, a total of roughly 13.6 miles.
Notes: We hit the trail at roughly 8AM after driving over from Burlington VT. The forcast called for a chance of thundershowers later in the day - but with how inaccurate the weather has been this year, we were hoping to continue that trend. We didn't see anyone all day, until 5 min after we reached the summit of Marshall, when 7 or 8 other people converged on the summit from different paths. At that point, the sky's opened up, the thunder started booming, and the rain came. It was a slow descent off Marshall, as the mud and rain made it extra tough. By the time we got back to Flowed Lands, the rain had all but gone, so we changed into some dry clothes and started back out. #27 on the ADK 46 for me, and #87 on the 115.

Our GPS track for the day.

And again.

Greg on Marshall. (His second trip).

Brian on Marshall.
It was at this point, litterally 5 min after that the sky's opened up and the rain came, so the camera went away. Nice hike, would love to get back up on a day with some views!
