North Jay Peak (3438'), VT
Date: 6/21/2006
Persons in Group: Brian and Ian
Weather Conditions: 75-80 degrees, Sunny and Clear.
Route: Long Trail South from RT. 105 to ridgeline of North Jay Peak, bushwack in from there.
Notes: Long Trail South was very muddy, also a very tough section of trail. We hiked in roughly 4 miles to the height of the ridge connected to North Jay. From here we bushwacked almost due north about 3/4 of a mile. Tough 'wack, no open woods at all, and large sections of open blowdown to climb over. Plastic Jar at the summit, contained water and unreadable log. I could make out some entries from 2004, but thats it. I cleaned out the jar, and put a dry piece of paper in it, but more maintence is needed.

A view from the Long Trail of Jay Peak, with Big Jay behind it.

Shelter about 2 miles into the LT.
Ian scoping out the terrain during the 'wacking accross the ridge.

Me checking out the view from an open section of the ridge.

Thats what I was looking at.
